The good news: Average house prices in Calgary actually fell by around $9,000 over the last month.
The bad news: The average price is still around $358,000, and the best I can do is *maybe* $280,000…
Seems it’s that way all over. :-(
On the plus side, I think they said that was just the average asking price on the listings, not of what they actually sell for. There could be a high turnover of lower priced houses that aren’t being counted, and a bunch of slowly-selling high-value homes that are driving the average up.
I’m finding a decent number of ones in my range now; I just have to do the legwork and hope I successfully nab one…
