One…Two…Three, Strikeout

Filed under: Politics — heide @ 1:01 pm

I am having the worst luck with travel arrangements…

Calgary Transit workers are thinking of striking, but haven’t walked off the job yet. If they do it’ll be annoying, but I can at least still walk to and from work.

The Greyhound bus workers are headed towards a strike and service has been shut down already, though. That’s how I usually get to Edmonton, so it looks like I’ll be flying instead this time.

But now the Montreal transit workers are planning on walking out next week. If that’s still in effect when I get there, I’m royally boned, since I chose a hotel that’s fairly far from downtown but near a Metro station. Hopefully they’ll work out a deal before then though, as I can’t see them letting a strike continue on through a huge tourism event weekend.

It’s Canada Day

Yay us. I will now celebrate the signing of a piece of paper by sleeping in.

Update: And my body wouldn’t even let me sleep in. I have failed our founding fathers!
